A Commando Raid into Society: Towards a transdisciplinary art-practice in real-time

Performativity is not just about the act - it is as much about connectivity, relations, and time. With the new technologies available, the performative strategy of art is becoming a real-time art practice.

Real-time art practice is a transdisciplinary issue. It is media art practice, and has a trans-aesthetic profile. It uses the temporal and duration as aesthetic material, and is hybrid, performative, and highly contingent.

Founded in connectivity between virtual and real spaces, the trans-aesthetic platform of real-time constitutes a kind of kaleidoscope of new practices, through which the combination of art and media may be studied and analysed. Real-time as a transdisciplinary issue points towards new domains of performance art - of any art, in fact.

This paper will deal specifically with the "show"-practice of Danish poet Per Højholt, focussing on how he, by fusing performativity and (new) media, develops a transdisciplinary art practice in real-time.
